No-Limit Poker Hands that Secure our StackHere are no-limit poker hands that we must play smartly to keep our stack secure. They commonly show themselves at no-limit so we better know what to do with them. Top pairs on the flop and AK are especially to be regarded more carefully in no-limit. They are tricky cards especially when we have been accustomed with them in limit poker. They seldom should be folded in limit but when it comes to no-limit poker we sometimes may find a situation when, as a no-limit poker hand, they're better folded than played. Here are other no-limit poker hands that we need to look closer into. Low suited connectors are basically not helpful to us. When we are faced with a good bluffing strategy and we have, say, a suited 3-4 or 2-3, we often have no chance but to fold, especially pre-flop. A suited AT may better face a bluff. With such hand, and we can better gauge the opponent's real hand value. If the second card on the board is a ten, then we have a middle pair for a no-limit poker hand. A top or high pair is also good no-limit poker hand to have pre-flop or as a paying hand. If the first card on the board is a kh and we have, say a suited AKc, we may opt for a top pair no-limit poker hand. An over-pair is like a hand of a pair of Ao and the first, second and fifth cards on the board are heart suited. But we would rather have strong no-limit poker hands of, say, Qd and Js. Just imagine if the board has KT986. When our no-limit poker hand is said to be nuts or something like that, it looks something like this: an Ah and 4h as a hand and the board has Kh, Th, 9s, 8s, and a 6h. All these no-limit poker hand types shown here should be seen against the background of the pot size during the play. Generally, lower pot values can be had with lower no-limit poker hand types because they are capable of beating only poor hands that call only low wagers. Thus, when we have a mere Ak as a no-limit poker hand while AJ4 are on the board, a KJ will not allow pay offs to us; we might even lose a lot from our stack. In a no-limit poker hand play, we ought to choose hands that can build good pots for us. |
